At the close of the first decade of the 2000s, Lawrence Jordan wove together a vast river of image and sound from unused film material piled-up in his studio since 1952. In essence, this is his visual autobiography, including clips from strange and unusual appropriated footage, outtakes from many of his films as well as material from uncompleted projects.
The fourth chapter of CIRCUS SAVAGE, consisting of reels ten to twelve, dwells primarily in the floral arrangements of the outdoors with further outtakes from (seemingly) TAPESTRY (1988) along with related footage lifted from (also evidently) IN A SUMMER GARDEN (1982). Flowers aplenty! The title-card announces at the mid-way point that this a SALVAGE OF THE SUN-PILE and Joanna McClure is our guest star once again, circa mid-1980s and also late-1950s (from SPECTRE MYSTAGOGIC). A lush compilation masquerading as a home movie.
